The smart factory becomes a competitive factor

With the progressive replacement of mass production by customized production, the Smart Factory is increasingly moving onto the agenda of industrial companies. A closer look at the results of the Industry 4.0 Awards shows, however, that many of the companies concerned are still far from the vision of an autonomous and automated factory.
