Digitisation - a challenge for police work
For the tenth time already, over 700 representatives of the Swiss and foreign police corps as well as industry gathered at the Swiss Police Informatics Congress (SPIK) on 29-30 March 2017. This national platform was held for the first time in 2017 for two days and enabled the security and rescue organisations of Eraneos and other IT service providers and providers to exchange information extensively on implemented and planned projects.
During the first day, the focus was on operational communication, i.e. in particular Polycom value retention, the further development of the system into a high-performance data network and population alerting. On the second day, the classic topics related to police informatics were discussed, such as the analysis and visualization of crimes.
New challenges and corresponding solutions were discussed extensively. In their joint presentation, the Federal Office of Police fedpol and Eraneos explained in more detail what significance digitisation has for police work.
In keeping with the topic, the event cartoonist Marcel Bender was able to draw a digital picture of the topic at the Eraneos stand and take a personal printout home with him. Of course, many congress visitors did not miss this special opportunity.
We thank all participants for their commitment and look forward to seeing you again in 2018!
