COVID-19 outbreak: lessons learned from early observations

The pandemic and its economic consequences continue to rage, as those lines are written. Yet, some observations can already be made about the speed with which financial institutions did react and the extent to which Business Contingency and Crisis Management Plans were deployed. Leveraging on those observations, early take-aways can be drawn, although very prudently from the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
This article aims first at gathering concrete observations made within financial institutions in Switzerland on their reaction to COVID-19.
